Hanging a  Hammock Chair

Hammock Chairs
Hammock Chairs

Hammock Chairs and Hammock Swings are alternative solutions to the traditional hammock beds. Unlike hammocks you lie on, hammock chairs allow you to sit naturally and relaxed, which is ideal for reading, studying, and socializing. Hammock chairs are offered in a variety of styles and designs, from straight back hammock chairs to mesh back and reclining hammock chairs. Hammock chairs and swings often include a footrest, which allows you to give your feet and legs a break from all they do.

It is important to hang your hammock chair safely. The anchor point for the hammock chair or swing needs to be able to support the weight of the chair in use. A strong branch or deck beam is an ideal anchor point, but it needs to be strong enough to hold the weight of a person. If the hammock chair you own has a 250 lb weight capacity, your anchor point should be able to support 250 lbs.

Most hammock chairs and swings can be hung using typical hanging chair hardware, including ropes and springs. We offer a large selection of Hammock Chair and Swing Accessories for use with hammock chairs, although most hardware stores also offer heavy duty hardware for hanging hammocks.

You may need to adjust the length of ropes on your hammock chair or swing, depending on what brand you own. A new hammock swing will experience some stretch in the ropes, so it is important to continue to check and tighten ropes and knots at first. Below are some examples of strong knots to use when securing ropes in your hammock swing.
